Vice President Geraldo Alckmin is due to meet young, newly elected federal and state lawmakers at the vice presidency on Wednesday, the 4th. The meeting was requested by Alckmin, who intends to thank them for their efforts during the election runoff campaign.

The federal lawmakers expected to attend are Ana Elisa (PT-MG), Fábio Félix (PSOL-DF), Ana Júlia (PT-PR) and Luna Zarattini (PT-SP). The state lawmakers expected at the meeting are Duda Hidalgo (PT-SP), Múcio (PSB-DF), Telca Nelma (PT-AL) and Flávio Brasileiro (PT-PB).

According to the assessment at the Planalto, the young lawmakers’ campaign work, particularly on social media, was key to Lula’s comeback in the election. Alckmin also wants to establish a channel for dialogue ahead of Lula’s next term and foster closer relations with younger lawmakers who could support the government’s ability to govern.
