Jordan Bardella’s promotion of his third book faced disruption on Wednesday, November 4, after activists campaigning against antisemitism gathered at its launch and journalists boycotted the event over a decision to bar a Mediapart reporter.

The gathering, organized by publisher Fayard for the release of “Governing,” came amid renewed attention to alleged antisemitic comments that Mediapart reported in September. The remarks, including the statement “All banks are owned by Jews,” were allegedly made by Bardella in private when he was younger. He denies being their author and is challenging the reporting in court.

The issue had also featured in questions during Bardella’s first two promotional interviews. The launch drew a markedly different reception from the event for his previous book, which Fayard held at Paris’s Théâtre Marigny a year earlier.

Bardella leads the National Rally. The book, published by Fayard, runs to 288 pages and is priced at 22.90 euros.
