Serhou Guirassy could miss Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga match against SV Elversberg on Saturday after coming off injured in the 34th minute of the team’s 2-1 Champions League win over Real Betis Sevilla.

Dortmund coach Niko Kovac said Guirassy had told him he could feel his thigh. Kovac said he did not believe the problem was more than a strain, but the team decided not to risk letting the forward continue. Sporting director Ole Book described it as a muscle injury and said its severity was not yet known.

If Guirassy is unavailable against Elversberg, Kovac said Dortmund would hope to have him back for the next match after the international break. The striker has scored eight goals in all competitions for the club this season.
