The European Commission is setting out plans to boost vocational education and training for jobs that depend on physical presence and manual skills, as artificial intelligence reshapes Europe’s labour market. The plans are part of the Education and Skills Package unveiled by Commissioner Roxana Mînzatu.

The package was discussed by Zoya Sheftalovich and Sarah Wheaton on the How to Find a Job in the Age of AI podcast. The programme describes these roles as less likely to be taken over by AI in the future.

The episode also covers an unresolved cyberattack affecting supermarket freezers across Europe, with cybersecurity experts looking toward Moscow, and reports that some Members of the European Parliament have used AI to do their homework. Parliament President Roberta Metsola has objected to that practice.
