Lucio Malan, parliamentary group leader for Italy/">Brothers of Italy (FdI), rejected regional criticism of healthcare funding in the budget, saying that a lack of an additional increase should not be described as a cut.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the CISL union, Malan said that past cuts had occurred under previous governments, while there are no cuts in the current measure. He added that the way funds are spent should be considered alongside the amount allocated.

Malan acknowledged that having unlimited resources would be desirable, but said resources are limited by definition.
