Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) registered his attendance and voted in a Brazilian Senate session on Tuesday, November 3, while the chamber considered a proposed constitutional amendment on public security. The semipresential format allows senators to participate remotely online.

Bolsonaro voted against a motion to separate a proposal to lower the age of criminal responsibility from the public security amendment.

He left Brazil on Tuesday, October 27, after losing the presidential election to Lula (PT) on Sunday, October 25, and has been living in the United States. Senate rules require lawmakers who leave the country to formally notify the chamber; Bolsonaro did not do so, according to the report.

His departure followed an order by Supreme Federal Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes for Bolsonaro to surrender his passports as part of an investigation into suspected money laundering. The senator denies wrongdoing.
