Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Tuesday that Moscow is currently engaged in talks to arrange a high-level trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The proposed gathering is scheduled to coincide with the APEC summit taking place from November 18 to 19 in Shenzhen, China, an event all three leaders are expected to attend.
President Putin publicly expressed support for the potential meeting on Sunday, though he noted that its realization would depend significantly on the Chinese hosts. Peskov elaborated on the situation during a briefing with reporters, stating that there is a shared understanding among the participants that such a summit would be both appropriate and highly beneficial. He emphasized that coordination efforts are already in progress to finalize the logistics of the event.
According to the Kremlin spokesperson, the hope is that these arrangements will be concluded within the coming days. The confirmation marks a significant development in diplomatic preparations for the upcoming gathering in Shenzhen.
