LeBron James took an unexpected sip of RED wine during a game after a third-quarter chase for a loose ball ended with him colliding with a fan. Unable to stop in time, the NBA star knocked some of the spectator’s drink from a plastic cup, apologized and then took a quick taste.
James, who scored 15 points and added seven rebounds and nine assists, said keeping the game fun and appreciating small moments mattered to him. He is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
The fan took the encounter in stride. “I’m just happy he’s here,” the longtime season-ticket holder told ESPN, adding that he did not mind the wine splashing on him.
