Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni described the agreement reached with Electrolux as an important step toward protecting the country’s industrial sector and jobs. The deal was reached overnight, according to a statement from Meloni reported by ANSA.

The agreement provides for more than €100 million in investment, continued production at the plants and departures that are exclusively voluntary and incentivized. Meloni called it a significant result for the workers involved and for Italy’s industrial future.

The government will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that all the commitments made under the agreement are fulfilled, she said.
