Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure overnight left hundreds of thousands of families without electricity. In a social media post, he said the attacks hit four regions: Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytskyi. Substations, transformers and power lines supplying homes were targeted, according to his statement.
Zelenskyy described the intensity of the strikes as extremely high. The remarks came as Moscow reported significant damage to an industrial facility in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region.
