FC Bayern Munich will be without Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry for the remainder of 2026, increasing pressure on the club’s attacking options. Sporting director Max Eberl said Bayern would study the winter transfer market, but stressed that there were currently no “hectic considerations” over signing reinforcements.
“We are looking at the market,” Eberl said before Bayern’s trip to Madrid for their Champions League match against Atlético. He added that nothing was planned for the moment and that the club had to work with its existing squad.
Saibari and Gnabry were the latest Bayern attacking players to suffer injuries during the 2-2 Bundesliga draw with Borussia Dortmund. The absences have made the situation in the forward line more difficult as the team continues its Champions League campaign.
Eberl also expressed hope that Jamal Musiala and Luis Díaz could return soon after the international break, potentially becoming available again in the middle of the month. Díaz, who has been sidelined by a muscle bundle tear in the back of his left thigh, completed an individual ball-training session the day before Bayern’s match in Madrid.
Musiala has missed more than a month because of a muscle fibre tear in his right thigh sustained while on international duty. He has also resumed individual training with the ball.
