The UK and the EU have finalised the text of a draft agreement intended to remove some Brexit checks on food and animal products exported to the bloc. The deal is the first in a series of agreements the two sides are expected to formally announce at a summit in Brussels on 20 November.

The text is understood to be settled and no longer subject to negotiations with the European Commission. However, an EU member state may still raise issues as the draft is circulated among EU ambassadors at a meeting in Brussels on Wednesday.
