Ebro has begun commercial operations in Croatia with the opening of its first dealership in Zagreb. The move marks the Spanish brand’s entry into the Balkans and its fifth European market, following launches in Portugal, Bulgaria and Andorra.

The expansion is being carried out with Auto Hrvatska, which will also support Ebro’s planned entry into Slovenia in 2027. The importer aims to establish a network of eight sales and service centres in Croatia over the next 12 months and expects to have two sales locations operating in the country by the end of this year.

The new dealership is located at Poslovni centar Heinzelova, 70 Heinzelova Street, in Zagreb. It includes a vehicle showroom and an authorised workshop for maintenance and repairs, as well as financing and leasing services.

Ebro will offer its full SUV range in Croatia, comprising the s400, s700, s800 and s900. The models, based on vehicles from Chinese partner Chery, are available with combustion, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. All vehicles for the Croatian market are assembled at Ebro Factory in Barcelona’s Zona Franca, linking the international expansion to production activity in Spain.

Auto Hrvatska began working with Ebro in July. The group has nearly 75 years of experience, more than 800 employees, 12 companies and 33 facilities across Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia. Its commercial and after-sales infrastructure will support the brand’s regional rollout.

Rafael Ruiz, president of Ebro Motors Group, described the Zagreb opening as the official launch of Ebro in Croatia and another step in its European expansion. He also expressed the hope that the company would continue growing its workforce and production.

Auto Hrvatska chief executive Alen Vuksan-Ćusa said the SUV range, its variety of powertrains and its competitive positioning were suited to current market needs. The group plans to extend Ebro’s presence through the eight-centre network over the coming year.

Ebro’s international strategy relies on agreements with local importers while coordinating its European growth with Chery brands Omoda and Jaecoo. The company’s industrial activity is based on the redevelopment of Nissan’s former Zona Franca plant and facilities in Montcada i Reixac, which handle the stamping and welding of metal components.
