Roberto Vannacci, leader of Futuro Nazionale, said Giorgia Meloni’s refusal to consider an alliance with his party was effectively helping the left. Speaking to reporters in Milan’s Piazza Oberdan, Vannacci criticized what he described as the prime minister’s decision to oppose cooperation with Futuro Nazionale in advance.
Vannacci also questioned the consistency of a right-wing government that, in his view, appeared to have changed the electoral law in a way that could favor the left. He said he was not interested in alliances, but wanted to promote a political vision shared by millions of Italians who, he argued, were tired of an attitude that had led the country to forget or even reject its values.
Asked whether an agreement with Meloni on specific issues was possible, Vannacci said his party was willing to talk to anyone within the “red lines” it had established. He added that Futuro Nazionale could not move away from what it considers the nation’s and Italians’ priority interests.
