Italy’s Chamber of Deputies Budget Committee has asked for three measures to be removed from the government’s budget bill, saying they are regulatory in nature. The proposals were made while the committee’s meeting was still underway, and are to be submitted to the Chamber president for review of whether they belong in the bill.

One proposed deletion is Article 105, which sets out rules for making printable digital editions of school and university textbooks available at reduced prices. The committee has also proposed removing a paragraph of Article 69 that would require healthcare providers to give patients a summary of the services they received and the corresponding fees. The third measure concerns the assignment of staff to support offices for extraordinary commissioners overseeing post-disaster reconstruction.

The Chamber president is due to inform the assembly of the proposed removals during its afternoon session. The committee has also set November 17 at 6 p.m. as the deadline for amendments to the budget bill. Admissibility checks are scheduled for November 23 or 24, with appeals to be assessed the following day.

The committee has not yet officially named the majority’s rapporteurs for the bill. The report says several candidates are being discussed, while the committee has already set the schedule for hearings and amendments.
